replacing flex hose over cooker

Hi, Has anyone any tips on replacing the flex hose that goes from the vent over the hob , Ours goes through the wall into the utility room and in to a pipe , I tried pushing it through from both sides but failed.
 
Sometimes the vent hoses are attached to the vent / hood using various types of clips - or even an adaptor that sits into the vent / hood itself.
Once these are removed generally its a case of feeding out old hose and replacing with a new one. Don't know if this helps ?????????????
 
Thanks so far , I am trying to replace the flexi hose , It goes from over the hob ventilation system through a wall that leads to a pipe in the utility room, The problem I have is feeding it through the hole, It is an electric hob John .
 
The previous vent hose might have finished on the inside of kitchen wall. I have come accross this arrangement but then the vapour/odour drifted up into upper rooms via blockwork even tho a hole in wall with grill on outside.

Perhaps the wall is solid or finished internally and ok to just put vent up to it? Can you line it in some way to seal it? Otherwise you could just make hole the correct size. This is done by using a special drill. I have replaced 35 yr old vent hoses and there does not seem to be problem with change from imperial to metric.
 
It's probably sealed/bonded with caulk, silicone or some other sealant. There may be a solid connector within the wall to prevent drafts. Is the hose the plastic or metal type? You'll most likely need to cut it close to where it enters the wall, then rip the remainder out. If plastic, latch a vise grips onto the reinforcing wire and pull away. If metal, there is usually a spiral joint, again, latch on the vice grips and pull!
