A relative gave me a very nice strong and comfortable nearly new leather chair but someone (not me) burnt a very small clean non scorched hole on the surface of the leather on the seat with a cigarette. The strong webbing underneath the surface is 100% intact clean and undamaged.
Any suggestions is this can be repaired without removing the whole panel ?
I could do it myself if I knew how. Ideally I'd love some boffin to have invented some liquid leather solution that can be matched with the tiny hole and cover it up. I heard theres something called vinyl solutions which can do the job ? Even if the match wasn't perfect it would be hardly noticeable as the hole is so small and I would put a cover onto it anyway. Removing the panel would be a major chair surgery nightmare I think as the panel is too large.
So suggestions please as to
1) cost and location of someone in Dublin who could fix it for me
2) cost and location of some kind of vinyl solution which can be used to patch the tiny hole for a DIY repair.
3) any other suggestions as I'm new at this ?
It would really be a pity to throw this chair out. It's very comfortable and otherwise in perfect condition.
