Repairing old/damaged photos

If this in wrong forum feel free to move.

Is there a website that you can email damaged photos to and have them repair them( tears,creases fading with age ). Also if not a website can anyone recommend a good place to get this type of work done that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. I know it will cost a bit but would love to get recommendations as I have quite a lot of photos to get done.

I am based in Dublin.

can't say I've used them but there's a place on Herberton Road in Crumlin which does just that - restoration of old photos. You could try them out. These are the details:

I done a few myself for friends and family. Its not that hard really, if you have a decent photo application. Can take a bit of time if they are bad, and you have to reconstruct any parts of it, that you can't clone or patch Obviously I've only done mine good enough to get a photo developed from them. I'm sure threres a world of difference between what I did and what an expert can do. I would be interested in hearing how much it costs.

Can you let me know what photo application you used and was it a free download or how much did it cost etc...
 
I use a really old version of Photoshop. But I could equally have used GIMP, or anyone of the freeware applications you can download from the web. I use Paint Shop Pro, again an old version that came free with some blank DVD's. So I haven't bothered to look for anything better tbh. I'd suggest looking at the Various magazines and see what free on the cover disks.

Not sure where in Dublin you live but there's a shop in the Swan shopping centre in rathmines that says they restore old photos not sure of the cost might be worth popping in if you live in the area

Do you still need help on that restoring those photographs. I'm a Graphic Designer who has lots experience with retouch, improving colour, removing blemishes etc with Photshop, i have the most current version. I can help you out if your interested. I'll PM you with contact details.
