Rentokil

Myself and my husband got Rentokil in for mice/rats running the ceilings. Now we have a desperate smell under floor boards so when we contacted rentokil again they mentioned that it could be a dead mouse/rat but to find it, the whole floor would have to be taken up. So can anyone tell me a way of lessening or making smell disappear altogether?

If its a mouse the smell might fade but if its a rat then the smell could be around for a long time. Had one a few years ago but he croaked it in the middle of the attic so was easy to remove - still got the smell two floors down though!

Bite the bullet and take up the floor would be my call.

Up stairs or down stairs?
Did rentokil say you had rats or mice

If its mice then u should be ok in a coupleof weeks

Im afraid rats can stink for years

We used to get this a lot in work during the winter. The rats would go from the cold looking for the warmth of the building eat the poison and die between the walls. Rentokil always told us that they could get stuff to block the smell but that it smelt worse than the dead rat so we just stuck it out. The smell goes away after a few weeks.
