Could anybody advise me concerning the rules on renting out ex-council houses. My Hubbie purchased it from the person who bought it from the council - but I seem to think that only the next pruchaser can rent it out. Is there information on the web for this?
Secondly if this was the case - could my Hubbie just transfer the title to me to get around this (without paying duty etc)?

If it's Dublin City Council, it may only be used for investment purposes by the third purchaser of the house, so in this case the next person to buy will be allowed to rent it out. You would need to talk to a solicitor about the implications of transferring the title.
