Hello,
I recently paid the stamp duty "clawback" to Revenue to reflect the period that I rented what was, previously, my owner-occupier premises. Can I write this payment off as an expense againt my rental income tax calculations?
For example, Revenue's guide says that you can deduct deduct expenses from rental income tax so long as they-
• are incurred wholly and exclusively for business purposes
• Rates or levies payable on the property, i.e., water rates, refuse collection etc.
I am wondering if the stamp duty clawback paid comes under this (I hope so!)?
Views appreciated.
