Rental Income - Mortgage Protection as allowable expense

I have searched for the answers to this, but can't find anything definitive.

The Revenue guide to rental income ([broken link removed]) has an appendix which says that the premiums on mortgage protection policies are an allowable expense against rental income tax, but I have not seen it mentioned anywhere else... does anyone know for sure? Thanks!

It is definately an allowable expense. I have claimed it and am currently claiming it against rental income. From memory it was announced in a Revenue Bulletin.
