I know this subject has been talked about before. But i want to get some views. Im interested in a 1 bed apt in sth dublin area. At moment i wont get mortgage as i have a large car loan and my savings is tied up for another year . I feel its time to find my own place and think this option would be perfect for me. I could use my rent towards my deposit and if prices were to drop in next 2 years maybe renegoiate the purchase price. Im looking at 1 bed at around 200k price in sth city/sth county. So does anyone know of any rent to buy apt in sth dublin? i have not seen any. Thanks

Im not sure i can apply for affordable housing. My father left the family home to me with the provision my mum has it for her life.

its in both our names. my solicitor told me i am still classed as first time buyer.

I have a sizeable amount of savings available in a year. thats why i prefer rent to buy.and its just i feel like i want my own place now. when i put this cash away i didnt know what i want but i do now.

[broken link removed] - Belarmine in Stepaside.

www.daft.ie - check under renting in Dundrum area there is a rent to buy scheme.

Also I think Rockbrook in Sandyford have also a rent to buy scheme.
