Rent Relief

Hi,

Just a quick question. I pay €1000 pm in rent. Someone told me i can claim rent relief or some form of tax credit for this. I earn €30K so am ussure if i can apply for this.

Also I pay my landlord cash - should he be giving me some sort of officail reciept?

Yep, works out to around 300-350 odd euro a year. Form you need to fill out is a form Rent1 i think.

And yes, your landlord should to be giving you a receipt although you it's not required to be sent off.

What you will need however is the landlords PRSI/PPS number.

Afaia if the landlord won't give you the info just submit the form and you will get the relief.
