HI. Me and my partner just broke up. He is on jsa and receives €76 euro a week. I've been paying the rent 650 on my own for several months now. Obviously I don't want to live with him anymore but I also don't want him ending up homeless or starving. If I move out will he get his dole upped and if so how long until it is? I know the previous tenants had rent relief so I'm sure the landlord will accept it but would he be entitled for it on a 2 bedroom flat in the midlands. But on the other hand I paid the deposit and I love this flat,it seems unfair I should leave in a way. Can he look on say daft.ie and if he finds a flat accepting rent relief move into it?This post is probably a rambley mess but just really want to get it sorted, Thanks

If you have separated, he can apply for a review of his JSA (I presume he was meanstested on your income, which is why he was getting €76 euro).

As a single person, it would be very unlikely that he would get Rent Supplement for a 2-bed property.

Check out [broken link removed] for information on Rent Supplement, and what the qualifying criteria are.

thanks for your answer, he does have a child from a previous relationship so thats why we got a 2 bedroom flat so the child could stay over....

Ah, that might make a difference - he might be allowed to rent a 2-bed in that case. He can discuss it with the Community Welfare Officer.
