Rent Relief on rented apartment

I rented an apartment for 11 months in 2001 / 2002.
The rent was €952 per month. (€10472 in total)
I never applied for rent relief at the time - I understand this could have reduced my tax bill.
I'm wondering is it too late to do it now?
How do i go about it?
and would it be worth my while based on the above figures?

Thanks in advance

[broken link removed] is currently limited to €1270 at the standard rate (i.e. it's worth €254 to you). I don't think this is substantially different to what it was worth in 2001/2002. Note that you might be able to claim this for both 2002 and (the proportion of the relief) for the short tax year in 2001 - assuming you spent more than the limit in both years. You can reclaim tax over paid for up to 4 years so you should be able to reclaim this. Start by contacting your Tax Office.
