Rent on farmland paid to other

Not sure if this question has been posed already but hear goes.

I am due some small rent on a piece of farmland and I would like for this to be paid to my mother instead of myself.
My mother is a pensioner and would be under the tax threshold even with this payment.

Is this allowed and would I have to pay tax on it?
