Rent deposit

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but didn't see anything specific about renting.
When I moved into my house I paid the landlord £600 deposit and a month's rent in advance. My rent is currently €1,200.
Now he's given me notice, how much 'free time' do I have in the house? Do I get two months 'free' as he owes me two months deposit and the month in advance or do I get back the equivalent of 2x IR£600 converted into euros? Any help would be appreciated.

If you've been there more than 6 months, he needs a very good reason (such as selling the house) to be able to give you less than 4 years notice I believe.

How much notice has he given you?

Normally you will just get your deposit back.

Nah, he's giving 4 months, but being such a jerk I want to be out in two at the most! Do I get back today's rent or the euro equivelant of IR£600 though? This is confusing me.
