Rent Budget in Barcelona

Hi,
I will be moving to Barcelona for work for a number of months. Could anyone give me an idea of what I should expect to pay for an apartment for myself. What sort of range is involved? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, are there any good contacts for finding a rental place?

The cheapest 1 bedroom/studio apartment in Barna would start from about EUR 500, though it would probably be in fairly bad nick and/or in a bad location at that price. For a decent one bedroomed pad in a good location you'd probably be talking about 700-900. Loquo.com is a decent site for apartments in Barcelona and worth spending a bit of time on to see what's available. Some things you need to watch out for when renting in Spain: deposits can be quite large (usually between 2 - 6 months rent), if you go through an agency they will usually charge a months rent for their services, other costs may not be included in the monthly rent (community taxes, water, maintenance of the building, etc), many apartments do not come furnished.
