rent allowance

Hey, I'm presently receiving disability allowance and am moving out of home to Dublin where Il be applying for rent allowance. Do you have to have a house first...or can you apply for the allowance without an address?? Many thanks for any help you can offer...

You need to find a property before you can apply for Rent Supplement. When you find somewhere, get the application forms from the Community Welfare Officer who deals with the area (rather than where you currently live).

Don't forget to ask the landlord if they accept Rent Supplement before you sign any papers or hand over a deposit (not all landlords accept the supplement).
