Rent Allowance

Ok this is worth a shot, I am currently living with my mother and I work full time but I am moving out soon with my boyfriend and we are buying a house. My mother recieves rent allowance on our 3 bed house, but obv when I move out she cannot stay there. I am just wondering what way do I go about things, do I have to approach Dublin county council and advise them she is looking for a place, or do I look around for a place for her. I also was wondering is it straight forward to move rent allowance from one place to another?

When a tenant changes address, a new application for Rent Supplement must be made with the local CWO.

Your mother should contact her existing CWO (who's dealing with the current Rent Supplement claim) for advice and information on the rent limits which will be applied in her circumstances. She/you will then know what to look for when renting a new property.
