Hi there, first time poster here...hope someone can give me advice....

SO i am a single mom of 1 and living at home with the folks and my brother, in a 3 bedroom house....things are getting really hetic there with them, fights the whole time, telling me what to do-just not getting on.... I know if i did move out things would be an awful lot better, but how?

I work 20hrs a week, receive one parent payment, FIS and maintenace for my son....i am down on the housing list.... would i be entitled to get rent allowance if i found a house or do i have to be renting a few months (which would be impossible at the mo, money wise)..... how much roughly do they pay out???

sorry bout the questions but can anyone shine a light for me

If you've been assessed as having a housing need by your local authority, you may be entitled to apply for Rent Supplement without having to rent for 6 months first.

Entitlement depends on the rent you pay (which must be at or below the maximum rent limit for your county and family size), and your total income - some of it is disregarded, but not all of it.

I posted a link to the Community Welfare Services website in another post in this forum, take a look at the info in the link which will tell you how to apply and give you more information on Rent Supplement.

I cant seem to find that post, i must be blind:cool:....sorry could you post it up for me.... much appreciated :D
