rent allowance and private tennant

Hi,
a friend of mine has an apartment on rent allowance.... however my boyfriend who works full time wants to move in and share the rent... now even though this is a private apartment where the council pay half of the rent if my boyfriend moves in and pays half... can he get a rent receipt? and if so, how would he go about it... its just he want proof so that when we go for affordable housing in a few months it will be obvious he's paying rent as well as saving....

Do you mean that the other tenant is on Rent Supplement from the HSE/Dept of Social and Family Affairs?

Receipts for rent paid by your boyfriend would be issued by the landlord who should also provide a tenancy/lease agreement.

Oh thats great gipimann. So he should contact the landlord and get a separate lease agreement then, perfect. thanks!
