Rent a Villa??

Has anyone rented a villa in South of France or Italy and if so would you recommend the experience. Husband & I have had anough of package holidays and are considering flight only and rental of a villa preferably close to a village, sights etc. Any responses gratefully received.

I got married in France in Sept 2007 and found when I was organising trips and had questions on hotels in the area etc, I came across a fantastic site called . You can browze forums or if you register you can go into the area for France and input your question.
Someone will come back to you with their answer pretty much straight away from anywhere in the world! I used it in Italy as well when we had nowhere to stay one of the nights there and got a response within minutes and had a villa booked there and then! Fantastic!

PS. I also use a great UK website for villas in Spain/Portugal, its called www.villaplus.com fantastic also and I have my villa booked for this year already at a brilliant price!
