I am currently renovating an old house and would like some advice on the following:
1. There is old plaster on the walls which is falling off in places and has old paper poking out from behind portions of it. Can the builder actually replaster over this without removing the old plaster?
2. I want to install a solid fuel stove and the agent has advised me to remove the wall around the fireplace where the chimney is -the wall is jutting out into the room-my builder has told me he cannot do this as it is a terraced house & it could damage the party wall.
Can anyone advise?
