Renovating bathroom to include walk in shower

I have a good size bathroom with tub. I need to have a walk in shower for my mother who is 88 yrs old. I plan to remove bath - I need a shower big enough for shower seat, small tray ledge is ok but can't decide whether to have open shower with one screen or convert to wet room.

Would love some advice- prices etc. I don't qualify for grant.

Go for a wet room. Do not have a ledge, it's just a trip hazard. There is no reason you cannot have a screen in a wet room, eg near the shower. I have one. As you are planning for an elderly person put in a grab handle. One near the shower head; and one where the person will enter/exit the shower area.

100% agree on the wet room if you can afford it. Expect the builder to whistle backwards through his teeth and try at least to talk you out of it as it's a level up in difficulty and easy to get wrong, and pita to put right if anything leaks.
