Hello SnowyB could you please assist with some advice.
I am on Leya company care plus cost 2,300 for one individual - I go to physio re shoulder fracture unresolved. I See an orhopaedic specialist in Santry. i use everyday expenses for Physio, acupuncture etc. Is there a more reasonable plan equivalent to this one it has gone up 500 in 4 years. renewal date approx 31 dec. company renews I think in December.

I also have Flex500 for sister and sister in law for last 4 years (both have pre-existing conditions one severe COPD awaiting operation on lung. both have medical cards as well.

Is there a better policy as I think this has gone up too. I was hoping to get everyday expenses included in their policies but I am trying to budget.
If you could suggest better/more reasonably costed product. I would really appreciate it

november16,

There are a number of alternative options to consider for yourself, with plenty of savings to be made.
Details as follows;
1. Laya 360 Care; price 2088pa; identical hospital cover and day to day cover as Company Care Plus.

2. Laya 360 Care Select; price 1867pa; same hospital and day to day cover as Company Care Plus, but this plan has an inpatient excess of 150.
This excess is NOT payable for the first 3 admissions or 3 day case procedures per year. It is only payable from the 4th admission/day case onwards.

3. Laya Control 150 Secure; price 1654pa; same hospital cover as before but this plan has an inpatient excess of 150 per private/hi-tech admission,
or 75 excess per day case procedure. Very good day to day cover included, 100 refund per consultant visit, 40 refund per gp, physio visit, etc.

4. Laya Simplicity Plan; price 1267pa; same hospital cover as before but this plan has an inpatient excess capped at 100 x 2 per year for all admissions.
Day case excess 50 per procedure. This plan has day to day cover with a 50% refund for gp, physio, consultants etc but the first 100 is not allowed.
The substantial savings on this plan (1000 per year) will cover a lot of medical bills plus a 50% refund, well worth considering.

Alternative Options to Flex 500 Explore for your sister and sister in law'

1. Laya Control 300 Create; price 1181pa; all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered; inpatient excess 300 per admission and day case
excess of 125 per procedure. Good day to day cover included, refund of 80 per consultant visit, 30 refund per gp, physio, dental etc.
This plan has much better hospital cover than Flex 500 Explore, including extra hi-tech hospital cover, full cover for a private room in a private hospital,
lower inpatient excess of 300 compared to 500 and good day to day cover.

NOTE: The following 2 plans have a restricted list of just 15 private hospitals covered, in order to even consider these plans, you will have to check out the 15 hospitals covered to make sure they are suitable for your sister and sister in law's location. All public hospitals are covered on these plans.
There is good day to day cover on these 2 plans. Just make sure that the private hospitals your sister and sister-in-law attends, are covered on the list of 15. If not, the 2 following plans are not suitable.

Details as follows;
2. Laya Precision 600 Create; price 908pa; all public, selected list of just 15 private hospitals covered, cardiac covered in Mater Private and
Blackrock Clinic hi-tech hospitals. Private hospital excess 600 per admission and 175 per day case procedure. Good day to day cover included,
refund of 80 per consultant visit, 30 per gp, dental, physio etc.
