Hi

I am here on a 2 years working Visa. It will expire on June, I would like to renew but it seems they have different system now, so what is the procedure for this? What is the difference about the Working Visa and Working Permits? should I leave the country to apply for a working Visa?

My manager said that I can apply for citizenship after spending few years here? I think I should stay for 4-5 years? Is there any way to do this before that? can the company that I am working with do something to speed this?

Thanks

You would need a valid work permit. Once you have had a couple of permits you could then apply for a greencard and stay

I was reading through this

http://www.entemp.ie/labour/workpermits/guidelines.htm

and I can see that they have Green Card Permits and Working Permits, I can go into the green card

but then I found this http://www.entemp.ie/labour/workpermits/currentauthorisation.htm
they are talking about renewing the working visa and that no need to go into the green card

For the Guide to Green Card Permits "The new arrangements allow the employee.... and will normally allow a pathway to permanent residency after two years"

I am confused here is this mean the the holder of the Green Card can apply for the permanent residency and the holder of the Working Visa/Permits can not??!!!

You will need an employer to effectively sponsor you visa work permit. The working holiday visa is only a 1 year visa

I am already with an employer and I am not on a working holiday visa

my visa is 2 years visa
Is [broken link removed] relevant?
