hi guys , moving into a new house pretty soon , at the front and gable of cottage its a mixture of pebble dashing ( say a four foot band in centre ) and plastered top and bottom , the plastered areas seems to edge over the pebble dashing by about an inch or so ... make sense ? i hope so ;-)

my question is , how difficult or hopefully easy is it for a plasterer to basically smooth off the pebbledash with a coat of plaster to basically have it all the one finnish ? ...........

also note that the dashing itself isn't a very prominent dash

any wise words appreciated

cheers ...........

Should be easy enough to do, the amount of work depends on the type of dashing it may be necessary to scrape it off because dashing can be loose, not being prominent could mean its tyrolene or similar which will take a coat of plaster. The inch wide edges sound like reveals which may be a little higher than the main plaster finish to form a definite line I suggest that you look for an "Olde school" plasterer who can knit the new plaster to the old as you don't want cracks where the new finish meets the old.
