My car battery went flat and when recharged the radio wouldn't work..evidently I need a code..do I have to buy one, it's a renault megane 1999
 
I had a similar problem with a different make of car. A phone call to the distributor got me the code - no charge (a neat parallel to the battery having no charge).

I presume that you have checked all manuals and documentation you received with the car.
 
Hiya, tks Padraig evidently Reanault are particular and you have to go out to their showroom and pay to have the code ho hum
 
The code is individual to the radio rather than the car. It harks back to the days when car radios were targeted by thieves.
 
Can't help so, had similar car and have the code as I had same problem at one stage, I did have to go to the dealer to get it but was not charged at the time.
