ok folks ..this is my problem.....i have cut down a conifer tree in front garden that was there for 20 years....i left a two and a half foot stump with a view to getting a jcb to remove the rest...however i noticed it is quite near a mains water stopcock (about three feet)to the house and i now have decided to remove it by cutting it down to ground level and using a stump grinder to shred the rest to below ground level....as i am revamping my garden i do not have time to chemicaly rot it ....my question is this where would i get a stump grinder...can i hire one out and has anyone a rough idea of how much it cost to hire one out....
