Hi,

Is there an easy way of removing emulsion paint & skimcoat splashes from PVC window frames? The frames are wood effect PVC with a woodgrain finish.

The wife and myself spent a frustrating couple of hours trying to clean a few of the windows last night. Tried soapy water, methylated spirits but still a nightmare to get absolutely clean. Didn't want to try white spirits or those bathroom cleaners as I am worried that this may cause damage to the PVC.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

There is a Upvc restorer you can get in Woodies. I used it to clean my upvc windows (white) and gutters and it did remove emulsion paint. The windows and gutters look like new. I don't know how this will work on coloured upvc though.

It's in a small grey bottle, I think it is made by Ronseal. I will check at home tonight and come back.

To be 100% sure you should phone your own or any reputable window installer and see what they say.
