A house in rural Ireland purchased 20 + years ago for 7,500 pounds by a woman from her own money when she was married. It’s her home in Ireland but she lives overseas and has done for the last 30 years.
House is in both her and her ex husbands name – She is devoiced 5 years)
She has no intention of ever selling the property and will eventually leave it to her adult daughter.
She would like to get her ex-husband’s name removed from the deeds of the house.
What is the cost of doing this? I’ve heard it can be very expensive.
What are her options?
(She has a good relationship with her ex-husband and knows that he would never try and lay a claim on the property).
