Does anyone know how to mark a monster.com account as inactive ? I have looked through their FAQs & documents but can't find anything. I'm sure there is a way, I just can't find it.

Basically, I was looking for a job, found one, and now want to stop agents contacting me based on trawls through Monster.

Cheers,

z

I don't know about marking inactive but I am pretty sure you can make your details private so they should not show up in searches.

From looking at my profile

log onto Monster
Go to My Monster
Go to Manage Your CV
Under the CV you wish to change there should be the following options
View/edit, copy, Delete, Send, Print.
Delete should do the job

If you don't want to delete the CV (after all you might need it again in the future, with some editing obviously)

log onto Monster
Go to My Monster
Go to Manage Your CV
Under the CV you wish to change there should be the following options
View/edit, copy, Delete, Send, Print.

There should also be a link under status saying public, click on it and it gives you the option to make it private instead).

Thanks to all. I had seen the delete option, but didn't want to delete it since I may need it as the basis for a new CV at some stage in the future. I will try unclicking the 'public' bit.

Cheers,

Finally got around to marking it private today. I have had a number of agencies try to make contact over the last week, and the only place I can think they got the details from was monster - not any more though.

I guess it shows that having your CV listed (on monster at least) does work. I got the current position a few months ago following a cold call from an agency who had found my CV after trawling monster. I could have gone to the interview, got the job, etc, and never actually met anyone from the agency.
