Removing Built In Cooker

Hi

I want to remove a built in cooker and replace it with a new one. The built in one at present is a Creda model.

I can't see how this is removed though. There doesn't seem to be any screws on the front of it or around the hob either for that matter. The hob is the glass type.

Is this much of a job?? Is it enough to just have the power switch at the wall turned off to do this??

Removal of cooker:

Open front door of cooker. Around the edge there should be 4 or 6 screws holding the cooker tight to the timber frame. Remove these and the cooker will slide out.

Removal of Hob:

Once the cooker has been removed you can see underneath and the hob is held tight to the counter with 4 brackets. Loosen these and the hob will lift up. A sealent was possibly used as well so you will have to give it a push to help it out.

Hope this helps.

We had our old double oven and seperate combi microwave removed recently and two seperate ovens put in their place.

Switched off at the wall and slid the oven out (no screws to remove) removed the power cable from the oven and that was it.

Attached power cable to the single oven (reverse of above) and slid into housing. Slid the top oven with built in microwave into the housing and plugged into the socket (also inside the housing).

Didn't see any screws for fixing and certainly didn't have any screw holes on the old kit. The weight of the oven(s) is more than enough to hold them in place.
