Remote control for portable DVD player

Received a matsui portable DVD player for a Christmas present and have somehow managed to lose the remote control for it. Anyone any ideas on where to source a replacement one. Have no idea where the player was bought and don't want to ask the person who purchased it because then I'll have to admit to my stupidity in losing the remote in the first place.

A replacement remote will probably cost more than the player. (A quick shows prices at around $35 plus postage from the US.)

IMHO, you would be better off to buy a universal remote and obtain the codes for the Matsui remote from the Internet.
