Hi i bought this remote control aeroplane in an electrical shop in Cork before xmas as a present that cost e140. Now i knew buying it that the shop was only temporary but they told me if there was any problems they have a store in little island and kilkenny but now the aeroplane is broke as it didnt fly when we tried an smashed off the ground. Iv tried searching the net for the company i bought it from but no sign!! Can anybody help me?What are my options?

Is there a vat number on the receipt? can you chase the company from that angle perhaps?

who makes the plane? if its silverlit chances are its dead - but its possible to purchase spares etc for certain brands here http://www.ripmax.com/ if they don't support your brand of plane, i'm sure they could point you in the right direction. Chocks away!

1. Try the Golden Pages/directory inquiries
2.Contact the Companies registration office and trace the company through their trading name
3.Consider, if you paid by credit card, whether the card issuer has insurance to compensate you for such a loss
4. Establish whether the shop has left a forwarding address with An Post

Wish you well in your quest

The only name I have for them is MCI or NCI group i dont remember. Its 1 of them,Has anyone ever heard of them

I dont exactly know the name of the street but it was on the same street as Smyth's Toy Store except the opposite side of the road!! Have you any info!! I actually found the receipt but no name on it. Its all very suspicious!!

What kind of plane was this, what was it made from? It takes a certain amount of skill to fly many of these planes, as I learned to my cost on my first flight of a €400+ radio control model. That flight lasted all of 10 seconds, but it took a good 3 minutes to collect all the pieces! Totally my fault, so certainly wouldn't have expected the retailer to repair or replace.

What was the name of the shop? Only one or two in Kilkenny that sell anything like this.

The shop is either called MCI or NCI Group!!!!They told me another name but I dont remember what it was. They didnt have the name of the shop up in Cork only a banner thing saying electronics, huge bargains etc...
Does this ring any bells of any places in kilkenny? Its called a Fantasy Set.3 in 1. It comes apart and u can change it 2 either a car or boat also. It was hard plastic but the winds were kinda foam stuff!!

No, not aware of any shop by this name in Kilkenny. Found a site selling those [broken link removed], wings don't look too sturdy alright.
