In general, when you solicitor puts in request for Home Loan cheque (before completion) how long normally does it take for bank/building society to release cheque?

Thanks for the feedback!

As long as everything is in order - mortgage protection, buildings insurance, valuation, legal work - it should be no more than 3 working days.

mine was sent at end of next working day (PTSB)

No, generally about a week to ten days before completion, but it depends;

some lenders (such as PTSB) charge interest from the day after release, so a solicitor will try to leave it to the last possible minute to order it;

some (such as BOI and EBS) only charge interest from when the cheque is cashed, so you can generally order it before you need it, and just leave it uncashed on the file.
