Registration Check on UK Car

Good afternoon all,

I am looking to purchase a Mini Cooper in the UK can anybody recommend a good website to check for HP, Car Status eg stolen etc.

www.cartell.ie is often mentioned by the classic car enthusiasts on boards.ie, you can enter an Irish or UK reg and pay for a detailed report.

(I've no connection to site).
 
Look for HPI

They do all data checking on cars in the uk.

if there is finance if it has been written off etc.

HPI Check can uncover if a used vehicle is stolen, accident damaged, had a registration transfer or has outstanding finance.

also go to the DVLA website and it can do a search for previous owners / NCT etc free of charge
 
Hi,

I did a check on a UK reg car. The dealer is listing it with 53K miles but the check is giving the following info;


Mileage Details

DVLA 23/05/2008 535,000
VMC - DEALER 29/12/2005 31,000
DVLA - 21/12/2005 32,000
Warning: Mileage data is supplied by third parties and may not be correct.

Looks like a typo but is there cause for concern? The car has also had a different plate during its life but I understand that plates can be owned by an individual in UK as opposed to remaining with the same car forever.
