Registering a Domain Automatically when Not Renewed

I've heard about websites which apparently register a domain automatically (for a fee) immediately upon the domain becoming available. i.e. as soon as the current owner lets the registration lapse and doesn't renew it.

Does anyone know the names of any of these sites?

It's a .co.uk name I'd want to register, and it's passed its renewal date. It hasn't yet been renewed, but is not as yet available to register.

Apparently it can take a few weeks before a name becomes available after reaching the expiry date.

There is some fixed period of time determined between renewal date and when a site becomes available. For .ie domains for example, I think it's something like 75 days.

Just so you know it might not be all that immediate.

For .com domains there is usually up to a 45 day period when the domain can be reactivated. After the 45 days have lapsed the domain is "dropped" and can be registered by anybody.
There are quite a few services that specialise in picking up the domains as soon as they drop.

With regard to co.uk domains the delay in releasing the domain can be considerably longer

IE domains until relatively recently did not have a formal deletion process. Nowadays it can take up to 90 days for an IE domain to be deleted :)
