Looking for someone in Dublin 15 to remove the 'worm' from my fireplace - it is the gas feed to a fire that we never put in, going to revert to a solid fuel open fire.

I would imagine this is a straightforward job - the line can be isolated via a valve at the side of the chimney, presumeably he can remove the line feeding the fire and cap it off. Not a job I'd touch myself. Any ballparks for a resonable cost for this work? If he isolates I'll do the removal (once isolated) and any making good myself.

Thanks

I had an open gas fire removed a few weeks ago, tradesman cut the pipe at the valve behind skirting & soldered it and cut the pipe on the floor of the fireplace. Took about 25 mins or so and cost me €50. There was some damage to the skirting board, because there wasn't enough space for him to work in the small opening, but it isn't much and can be re-instated easily.

Thanks for teh replies - that Bord Gais website looks like it has all the possible candidates. Now to start phoning....
