Hi All,

Can anyone explain how I can be refused a credit card from MBNA even though the recent Irish Credit Bureau Score they obtained on me was high. I received my ICB report last week. The GFS (Global FICO Score) they requested was given as 743. The max score is 850 - this being the lowest risk !

I already have a BOI Credit Card and wanted to avail of the 10 months interest free offer from MBNA and transfer the balance of €2400 on the BOI card to MBNA.

What other criteria is used and is it wortH querying this with them ?

Any comments appreciated.

You are obviously not a good prospect for MBNA. They want people who do not pay off their balance in full each month. They feel you will not make them any money.

They will refuse to tell you why they refused you, but if you make a request in writing under the Data Protection Act you should be able to see why they rejected you.
