Refurb. Dilemma

I am currently doing a refurbishment job on my house prior to selling as the decor truly dates the place. I am wondering if it is worthwhile in addition to painting, tiling etc. to get a new kitchen which would be approx. €4000 from Cash & Carry? Would this add value?

Hard to see how this would add more than €4k to the value of the place unless the existing kitchen is a real turn-off. Would replacing the doors on the existing kitchen give you something near the same effect for far less money?

A lot of FTBs would be put off by a dated kitchen......would be seen as a major investment to put it right.
I agree though on updating the existing one rather than replacing it. Often handles and a worktop is sufficient unless it is really awful.
