Refunds via PayPal

Hi all

I'm not a frequent PayPal user, so I'm not sure how the process for refunds works.

I made a complaint against a seller this morning and recived a refund within 2 hours (pretty good I have to say). The money has now been refunded to my PayPal account. My question is, will this automatically be credited to my credit card account (I paid by credit card), or do I have to withdraw the funds myself?
 
The same thing happened to me a few months ago- it will be automatically credited to your credit card account so you don't have to do anything else ... daithi.
 
I got a payment from Ebay into my Paypal account. It sttayed there until I designated a Bank Account sort code and No.
 
Same as SineWave - my refund sat in my Paypal account until I transferred it out to my bank account.
 
I agree with the above posters. You need to log into paypal and authorise a withdrawal of your funds either to your credit card or nominated bank account. It will not happen automatically.
 
If you paid via PayPal your refund will also be via PayPal and automatically credited to your credit card account. This was my experience last week in claimimg a refund from an EBay seller.

The PayPal website claims they do not allow you to withdraw funds to a credit card account.....
 
To update: The money was refunded to my credit card without me having to do anything.

I did lose out on the exchange rate difference, which cost €3 on a £50 transaction.
 
I was forced to file a PayPal dispute against a seller after an item (a 2GB Secure Digital memory card costing c. €110) ordered in November 2005 never appeared and the seller dragged their feet on following up on the mandatory insurance cover bundled with the purchase. PayPal just ruled in my favour and refunded the charges. I wasn't aware of this aspect of the PayPal service before and it is very useful for protecting consumers.
 
be aware, however, Paypal won't necessarily refund the total value, just the amount covered by the paypal protection-the standard protection is STG£105, and the Premium protection is £500, even if a dispute is found in your favour
