We bought 5 beds last August for our new house (fairly basic pine bedframes - €170 for singles and €270 for King Size)
One of the single beds broke in February when my wife sat on teh edge with our 3 yr old son. - It was repaired by the shop faitly quickly. At the time I thought that the wood was pretty poor quality when I saw the broken pieces.
Another single bed broke in a similar way in April - and they refused to even discuss it - accusing us of abusing the beds! The beds have not been jumped on or abused in any way . The worst treatment they would have had is a couple of teenage boys sitting on it at a time - but surely any bed should take that. The King Sized bed frame is now cracking and creaking when ever we so much as move in the bed.
I have written to the shop - saying that I am not happy with the quality of the beds and asking for a full refund on all beds. (€940) They have replied offering €600 for all the beds - which I have rejected. I am wondering if anyone has any experience of this type of dispute - and maybe of the small claims court? Does anyone think I am pushing it too far?
