Refund of unused part of electricity credit

Not sure if this is the correct forum, or if it should be moved to the Property Investment forum. I've gone sale agreed on a property and, all going well, will be completed in the next couple of weeks.

When the tenants moved out, I took over the bill to ensure that there'd still be an electricity to the property. I've checked the on-line account, and I got the first €125 credit to the bill at the start of November. There's minimal electricity being used in the property now, so by the time the sale completes, I'm expecting that there'll be a credit on the account of around €90. I know that the government paid this, so it's not "my" money. However, when I close this account, I'm wondering what will happen to this money?

I'm not looking for the money to be "refunded" to me, but I'm just wondering what will happen to it? If I'm not entitled to a refund, I'd prefer that the credit balance be donated to a charity or even credited to the electricity account person buying the property from me, rather than just "giving" it to the electricity company.

Thanks.

It is your money.

You will get a cheque or credit transfer when you close the account
