Hi,

Friends of mine were refused entry to the US on the basis recently and have to get new visa etc. They obviously missed their flight and were told by US immigration that they would get a refund. The Aer Lingus ticket desk in Shannon was closed on the day. And now someone has told them they are not entitled to any refund?

Any one any info on this?

Cheers

Same thing happened to someone I know too. She could get the €35 tax from her flight out to US refunded. As for the return journey that ticket can be used again within 12 months I can only presume that the name can be changed on it since she wont be able to use it.

your friend should ring Aer lingus straight away. Often, if the first leg of a journey has not been used, it cancel automatically the return.
