Anyone got some good advice on changing mortgages?
I was thinking of going for interest only in order to keep my repayments low, but am having second thoughts as I know it effectively means I am paying nothing off the capital.
Anyone know which places are the best for refinancing and if any mortage lenders offer good rates in terms of keeping repayments down...

There is a thread on the 'best' switcher mortgages in the Best Buys forum.

BoSI appear to be the best in the market at the moment, but take into account what happens when the discount period expires.

The best way to keep repayments down? Pick the lowest APR/cost per thousand, and pay any excess cash you have into the mortgage (against the capital) to reduce the capital sum outstanding, and hence the term and interest bill.

Again, there is a a thread on rates for certain loan-to-value ratios in the Best Buys forum. If that's no good to you, pick up a copy of Thursday's Irish Times, where the Poperty supplement has a list of all available rates.

Thankyou for that. I had posted the thread when I realised there was already ample advice available elsewhere. Still finding my feet with the site, I'm afraid...
