Redundant, travelling for next 7 months

Hi all,
New to AAM so please bear with me. I have a query which I am hoping some-one can answer, or help me with.
I was made redundant at start of April. I will start travelling around the world in May and plan to return home in Dec. Will be away more than 183 days.
I have not signed on and have no plans to do so at the mo.
I do not plan on working whilst travelling.
My income whilst away will be a monthly pension from my employer's scheme.
Can anyone advise as to how this affects my tax situation ?
Does being away more than 183 days entitle me to a refund of some of the tax I paid on my severance ?
Will this affect my claim for top slicing relief ?
Thanks
Alikhan

You will still be considered resident in Ireland, as you will have spent 280 days in Ireland in 2009 and 2008 added together.

Your will get your normal SRCOP and tax credits against your pension, and your claim for top slicing will be calculated as normal.
