Redundant - advice on getting new job.

Found out on Monday that I’m being made redundant at end of the month.
I’m in construction industry & work has seriously quietened down so it’s pretty understandable. I have spoken to a number of agencies & it looks like it might prove difficult to get another job.
I’m degree qualified with a no of years experience, has been suggested to me to go to Dubai but with 2 young kids this might prove difficult.

Just really looking for any ideas or suggestions on looking for work outside the construction industry until perhaps things turn around. Would be willing to do any type work so long as can keep bills & mortgage paid.

what are of the country do you live / want to work in??

are you practice / site based?

based in sth dublin kildare area, based in office with couple days on site.
spoke to few college friends and seems to be same story everywhere. three good friends let go in last month.

God its getting a bit scary for all of us connected to the construction industry...

sister worked for Q.s. - made redundant along with 4 others last month!!

would you consider some kind of career guidance to see if you could branch off into something else - maybe lecturing ???
