Redundancy - what I am hoping to get

I was informed on Friday that I was being made redundant and came back in on Monday just to finalise my departure, give back keys, it’s not a place where you work notice as a manager, it’s all very much hush hush I have been sworn to secrecy, employer pretending I left by own free will, so not to cause effect on the company, I am still awaiting my letter since Monday which I have asked to confirm everything e.g.: how many weeks notice I will be paid (I had to agree to it weekly to help spread the cost) I have been employed for 8 full years, I am expecting 8 weeks notice at full pay, 8 weeks redundancy pay - which I am aware is capped £400/£430 per week, I was fortunate enough to earn more. And my holiday entitlement which I have got to 4.1 days but you can only go up so that 4.5 days till the end of my 8 week notice period. Am I right? (It seems a lot of money) Do I need an official form signed or will my letter stating the above if it does suffice for the benefits office. When my redundancy pay is worked out -is the date taken from the end of the notice e.g.: after 1st feb which makes it the higher rate £430. I’ve already agreed to having the redundancy being paid straight away ish, my notice weekly for 8 week and then my holiday pay at the end of my 8 weeks, I think my employer may change what we agreed verbally on Monday when I get the letter - so I really would appreciate any advice or confirmation of what I am legally due. Thanks in advance.

You have used the term £ above. Does this mean that you are in the UK ?

If so, askaboutmoney is an Irish site, so we may not be able to help you as people here might no know UK law. Can you confirm ?

Thanks and good luck with the redundancy payment
