I’ve just been redundant after working for a company for 13.5 years. First 6.5 years were based in UK and last 7 in Ireland. Notice on the Revenue site (Lump Sum Payments IT21) that some relief is available for Foreign Service?
“Your redundancy or retirement lump sum may be exempt or partially exempt from tax where you have been on foreign service with the employer who is paying the lump sum, provided certain conditions are met.”
It doesn't explain any more than that, does anyone know whether this includes the UK?
