Redundancy - Suitable Alternative - Travel distance

I am subject ot a redundancy process in the job.
I am being offered a "suitable alternative"
However it is 40Km further away from home than my current location.

Does this distance constitute a "suitable alternative?
Is there any guidance or opinion on what travel time/distance constitutes "suitable"?

I certainly think that would be within reasonable travelling distance, is the distance from your home to work 40km or on top of what you are already travelling?

In one of my previous jobs which was with a bank up to 40 miles was considered to be reasonable.

Croke Park 2 allowed for relocation or redeployment within a 45km radius, so I would imagine that would be a yardstick.
