Redundancy-social welfare

Hello,
I am being made redundant next month. My partner is self-employed ex builder, so basically doing nothing at the moment. He was refused Dole after they means tested us, and based on my Salary we were over the limits... OK, so I'm wondering now, as the assessed us as a couple for his application, will they also assess me the same way, and will I be able to claim for him and our two children??
I'm working 20 years so have full PRSI entitlements.

You will not be means-tested as you will be claiming Jobseeker's Benefit based on your PRSI contributions. You can claim for him and the kids. read the keypost guide for Jobseekers at top of forum.

Your husband should also reapply for jobseekers allowance as he was denied because of your salary - that's now gone so he may get something now.
