I'm 35 weeks pregnant and due to go on Maternity leave in just under 3 weeks. My company has just gone into administration and will be making redundancies in the next 2 weeks if there's not a buyer for the company. If i am made redundant am i still entitled to some sort of maternity pay?? I have also been told if the company gets new investors and carries on as a new entity the likley hood of them keeping an employee who is about to go on Mat leave is very slim? What are my rights in this situation??

Help....... a very worried mum to be!

Thanks Brendan that was useful - does it apply in Scotland as that's where i live - my company were based in England though.

Also due to me only working for the company for just over a year i've heard that redundancy won't apply as it only comes into play if i was with them for 2 years or more?? Does this means claims will be different??

askaboutmoney is an Irish site and Brendans othr website would be solely about Irish law, so I dont think we can help you.

Good luck with your situation,
